2019 Election: Internal Party Democracy Roundtable on Election Reform; Picture Gallery


 The International Republican Institute, on Friday 19th May, 2017 held a round table meeting with all the political parties to deliberate on the ongoing amendment of the Electoral Act 2010, which records to have been a success.
The Round table meeting was held at the Chopsticks Conference Hall, 52, Mississippi street, Maitama Abuja, between the hours of 9:30AM- 2:00PM, where almost all the political parties were appropriately represented, with a resource person (Barr. Festus Okoye.) Executive Director, Human Rights Monitor.

The programme opened with a welcome address by the IRI Resident Country Director (Sentell Barnes), and thereafter, a remark by IPAC Chairman, (Mohammed Nalado),

who took out time to analyse all the alterations that the law makers intends to make and thereby took more time to take suggestions from party representatives who were present.

With the expectation that Nigeria will experience a better electionary process in 2019, we hope that the law makers will recognize the contributions of the masses and put to consideration the suggestions and proposals from the political parties as duly proposed.

The political parties will therefore, be appearing before the House of Representative on Monday 22nd May, 2017 to pour out their minds on the issue of the electoral Act amendment which is on process.
